Hope primarily represents people charged with criminal offenses and couples separating both with and without child related and parenting issues. Many cases in the judicial system end in a plea agreement or some sort of settlement, which means that many attorneys have very little trial experience. Hope, however, gained extensive trial experience during her 5 years as an Assistant State’s Attorney – first in Kendall County and then in LaSalle County. Because of her prior experience as a prosecutor, Hope has an intimate knowledge of the criminal justice system and has earned the respect of attorneys, judges, and other court personnel. Now Hope uses her experience as a prosecutor to fight for and defend people charged with all types of crimes, including DUI and traffic offenses, as well as to protect the rights of separating couples. Hope’s mission is to secure the best outcome for each of her clients. In many situations, that means Hope has to think outside the box in preparation for trial or in gathering mitigating evidence to show the prosecutor her client is a good person who deserves a break. For other clients, a negotiated, quick resolution to avoid involving children in the legal process or to help put the client’s past behind them is the right solution. And yet, for others, trial may be the only option to secure justice. Hope really listens to her clients to learn what they think would be a just outcome and to determine how to get them there.
